  • Sore throat,
  • Diarrhea.

If You Would Like to Know How Effective An Immune Response Your Body Has Developed After Receiving a COVID-19 Vaccination, Please Click Here for Further Information.

If You Have Received a COVID-19 Vaccination, But Are Still Experiencing Coronavirus infection symptoms:

  • First, stay calm. All the CDC approved COVID-19 vaccinations have been shown to prevent most people from getting sick but this is still a very new situation. Scientists are still learning how long the effects of the vaccine last, how well they prevent the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19 to others, etc.
  • Second, stay at home (self-quarantine) unless you are having shortness of breath. If you are having shortness of breath you should get medical help.
  • Third, determine whether you need to be seen by a doctor by calling your doctor for telemedicine (Note: If your doctor doesn’t provide telemedicine, you are welcome to call Zion Urgent Care’s direct line for telemedical care – 832-447-6454 – Monday – Friday 9AM-9PM and Saturdays 9AM-3PM).
  • Fourth, when your symptoms have subsided, consider getting a quantitative reading of your body’s antibody response to your COVID-19 vaccination to gain a clearer sense of how your body is doing. Click this link for more details on this option Zion Urgent Care Clinic has secured with a specialized laboratory, Allermetrix.

What Should You Do If You’re Highly Likely To Have Coronavirus infection:

  • First, don’t panic. Not even everyone who contracts the virus needs special medical care so keeping a clear head is important.
  • Second, as noted above, it is best to stay at home (self-quarantine) unless you are having shortness of breath. In that case, you should get medical help.
  • Third, determine whether you need to be seen by a doctor (Note: If your doctor doesn’t provide telemedicine, you are welcome to call Zion Urgent Care’s direct line for telemedical care – 832-447-6454 – Monday – Friday 9AM-9PM and Saturdays 9AM-3PM).

If You Potentially Have the Coronavirus, Whether You Are Told to Go to ER or to Stay at Home and Self-quarantine, Don’t Forget To:

  • Use a mask (note: it doesn’t have to be N-95, any surgical mask will help) when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) or pets and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes and immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or, if soap and water are not available, clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid sharing personal household items, dishes, drinking glasses, cups, eating utensils, towels, or bedding with other people or pets in your home and Wash the items thoroughly after use.
  • Clean and disinfect: “high touch surfaces” which include counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, and bedside tables

How Telemedicine Improves Employee Health and Productivity https://zionurgentcare.com/katy-virtual-health-care/telemedicine-benefit/ https://zionurgentcare.com/katy-virtual-health-care/telemedicine-benefit/#respond Fri, 31 May 2019 00:35:00 +0000 http://devzucare.webpartnergroup.net/?p=271 Keeping employee productivity and positive energy up is critical to your business’ success. You know that an employee’s performance and productivity goes down when they are sick. Even though you may have a generous sick leave policy, there are many reasons people come to work when they don’t feel well.

Employees who are falling ill will agree that they are not operating at the best of their abilities. However, they may resist seeing a doctor for these familiar reasons:

  • Doctor visits can be expensive, with high copays or deductibles.
  • Going to the doctor is often inconvenient.
  • Employees “who are not sick enough” may feel they are wasting time and money. If the doctor concludes they are fine, they have needlessly paid for the visit and taken time away from work.

The Telemedicine Benefit

By offering a telemedicine benefit, you can encourage employees to have a virtual consultation even when their symptoms are minimal. The objective is to catch and treat an illness as soon as possible, minimizing lost productivity and the overall cost of treatment. Employees and their families can consult a doctor as many times as necessary at no cost to themselves, since the benefit is paid for by the employer. This means that they won’t wait until they feel really terrible before going to the doctor.

When employees don’t have to feel that they aren’t “sick enough” to seek medical care, everyone benefits. Fewer germs in the office mean that sickness won’t spread to the employee’s colleagues. Getting care earlier means that an employee will miss fewer days at work. Taking care of an illness in its early stages means that the employee will feel better faster and be up to their peak performance in no time. If you offer a telemedicine benefit, you will find that healthier employees and increased productivity are the result.

Summer Health https://zionurgentcare.com/texas-news/summer-health/ https://zionurgentcare.com/texas-news/summer-health/#respond Tue, 14 May 2019 20:21:00 +0000 http://devzucare.webpartnergroup.net/?p=278 Summer means long days outside, plenty of sunshine, time and daylight for activities and, for parents, kids that need to be kept busy. Here are some things to think about as you plan your summer activities.

Camps, Sports and Summer School

Summer can be tough for working parents (or any parent who treasures quiet time), and since it’s hard to raise free-range kids in our times, people often turn to a mashup of camps, summer school and sports to keep their little ones busy. Summer health is important and Zion Urgent Care offers flat fee exams and paperwork so that you can rest assured that you have all the documentation you will need.

Sun, Bugs and Dehydration

It’s important for everyone to protect themselves from sun damage, especially between the hours of 10am and 4pm. This means sunscreen, bugspray, sunhats, and sunglasses for each family member who is enjoying the great outdoors, whether it’s at the community pool, the beach or hiking in the woods. Remember to keep hydrated. Keeping your water bottle filled is a great habit to get into, especially when you are out in the hot sun.

Scrapes, Falls and Injuries

You may find yourself being more active during the long days of summer. In addition to protecting yourself against the sun and heat, it’s important to make sure your family takes necessary safety precautions, like wearing helmets when bike riding, life jackets when out on the water and other protective gear when playing sports. For life’s little emergencies, there is Urgent Care. Keep Zion Urgent care on speed dial – we can see you remotely with our Telemedicine option or you can make an appointment to come in and see the doctor with no wait. Summer health is important for summer fun!
